CAMPING PROJECT - current
In this project, I look at how people arrange their tents when they go camping. The project reveals the campers’ idealism and desire for privacy and seclusion, despite the close-quarters offered in most car-camping-sites. The project also reveals the vulnerability and occasional
inadequacy of tents as a form of protection. How the tent is arranged in nature suggests a relationship between the temporary structure and the environment.
By ignoring the people and isolating the tents away from the detritus of everyday camping life, I offer a portrait of car-camping and tent-trends in the American West. Images are 16x20” or 20x24”
